Representation of the BCAD Board of Directors
The Bexar Central Appraisal District is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors responsible for overseeing its operations. The board appoints the chief appraiser, sets budgets, approves contracts, and establishes policies to ensure effective management of the district.
Of the nine members, five are elected by the taxing units within Bexar County, while three are chosen by majority vote in the general election for state and county officers. The ninth member, the county tax assessor, serves as an ex officio director, providing valuable expertise and representation.
