The Fort Bend Appraisal District is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for setting policies and overseeing property appraisals across Fort Bend County. This board ensures compliance with Texas property tax laws while advocating for the community’s interests. The Board of Directors consists of elected representatives from the taxing entities served by FBCAD. Board members serve without compensation and are responsible for appointing the chief appraiser, reviewing and approving contracts, adopting the annual budget, and ensuring regular audits to maintain transparency and efficiency in the district’s operations.
