Important Tax Payment & Installment Deadlines:

  • January 1
    Determines taxable values and exemptions for the current year.Over-65 or disability homestead exemption applications may be filed in the year the applicant turns 65 or meets Social Security disability requirements.
  • February 1
    Prior year’s property taxes become delinquent if unpaid.
  • April 1
    Rendition Deadline – Last day for business property owners to file renditions or request an extension.
  • April 15
    Last day to file renditions unless an extension was granted.
  • April 30
    Final day to apply for:
    1.Homestead, Over-65, Disability, and other property tax exemptions.
    2.Special agricultural, timber, or wildlife productivity appraisals.
    3.Requests for separate listings of undivided interest properties and proportionate taxation for planned unit developments.
  • May 15
    Williamson County Property Tax Protest Deadline – Last day to file a written protest with the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) for the current year or within 30 days of receiving a Notice of Appraised Value, whichever is later.
  • July 25
    Chief Appraiser certifies the appraisal roll to taxing jurisdictions.
  • October
    Tax bills are mailed to property owners.
  • September 1
    Alternate inventory appraisal date for property owners who applied and were approved by the Chief Appraiser.
